The end of the ae92

Uncategorized No Comments »

Well I ran into a few problems with the car (due to 3 years of abuse), and recently picked up an ae86 shell. The 7A is being swapped into there, and a G is going to be installed. Unfortunately nothing else will really swap onto the ae86, so I will be parting out the majority of this car. If you need anything, let me know.

Special thanks to Will for finding my lost camera. Unfortunately I lost a few pics, but what can you expect when you leave a camera in a drift car for four months? Enjoy this drift pic & vid:

I used the Corolla to take a trunk full of scraps to the scrap yard and got a weight on my car. With the reductions I’ve listed on the page below, it brings the car to a total of 2270lbs.

After a 3 hour wait, I screwed up my only run. The transmission seems to be failing, and has started locking out of 1st & 2nd a bit, which resulted in a 18.061 run. If I hadn’t missed the shift it would have easily been in the 17′s, and with better tires it would be possible to hit the high 16′s. This run was on 185×65 R14, so I spun tires more than I did on the 205×40 R17′s that you see in my pictures. Recently I fitted the 17′s with Yokohamas, but used 195x45x17 tires this time, which has greatly helped with rubbing issues and comfort. I’d like to run again since I can get much better traction now.
